Summer BucketList

Well, as August quickly approaches, I feel like summer has just flown by and I, by no means am ready for that! As I sat around all weekend just relaxing, I couldn’t help but realize that I haven’t done many things that I have been looking forward to doing all summer. After some consideration, I have come up with a list of things that I MUST do this summer, because I don’t think I can go through another never-ending winter thinking about all of the things I missed out on and will have to wait to do until next summer!

1. Go to the Horse Races
For the last few summers, I have wanted to go to the horse races at Canterbury Park in Shakopee, Minnesota. A couple summers ago I went to go visit my dad in New York and went to the horse races. I’m not much of a gambler, but even a mini win is still a win, and still very thrilling!

2. Go Tubbing
I’ve gone every summer since living in Minneapolis and definitely do not want to miss out this year!

3. Go to the State Fair
Although there is a bit of time until the state fair, I have only gone once and would love to go again! Can’t wait to get my hands on deep-fried lobster on a stick or pizza tots!!

4. Go to a Twin’s Game!
Although I have technically already been to one this year, it didn’t quite count. It was Brewers vs Twins, so obviously I was there for the Brew Crew. This time around I would love to go on a Saturday afternoon and just enjoy a great game!

There are a ton more to add, but if I could do these four, I will be one happy camper!

Life Lately

life-lately So I have been pretty MIA lately. Just to keep you in the loop, here are a few things that I am or hope to be doing sometime soon!

Eatting healthy  |  After my half marathon, I kind of just gave up on eating healthy. Well, that was a mistake! I have been trying to make healthier dishes, but because I have been go go go lately, it’s been a bit difficult.

Updating Portfolio  |  This has been a long and time consuming process, but it’s fun and hopefully will pay off when it’s finished. Stay tuned!!

Workin Out  |  Ok, so I know I am terrible because not only have I not been eating the best, I also decided to take a very long break from working out. I gotta get back into it, especially since I love food too  much.

Camping  |  I have had tentative plans to go camping this summer, but have been too busy. I really hope this weekend, or sometime soon, this is going to happen!! YAH S’MORES!

Life | Happy Fourth of July!

Happy Fourth of July Everyone! This is my favorite holiday, who wouldn’t love sun, ice cream and fireworks! This year is going to be a bit different! Currently, I am back in Wisconsin and will be going to my cousin’s wedding this evening. I’m jacked to spend some time with family and old friends, oh and to dance … a LOT. What is everyone else doing this beautiful weekend? Whatever you’re up to, I hope you all have a great weekend!

Perfect is Boring

Sorry Everyone, I have been MIA again! Not only do I want to revamp my blog posts a bit, but I have been crazy busy with life in general.

A few things that have been happening lately:

1. Training for a half marathon (that was cancelled)! It was a total bummer to train for months only to get to the starting line on race day and it being cancelled. Don’t worry, I am going to run one in a couple weeks in Milwaukee, hopefully the weather cooperates this time!

2. One of my best friends of basically my whole life just moved back to Minneapolis! Her and her fiance moved to Costa Rica in November and surprised EVERYONE with their arrival. I have been trying to get in as much BFF time as possible!

3. IT’S SUMMER FINALLY!! It’s true, after a very long and very very cold winter, summer has finally arrived. Not only am I on a couple of sports teams, I am trying to spend as much time outside as one probably should!

The only downside of all of this is my lack of blog posts recently. I promise, once I do some revamping and reorganizing of the blog and get in just a little bit more sun time, I will be back, hopefully a little new and improved! The blog, much like myself, will not be perfect, but perfect is boring anyways!

So, first off I would like to apologize for being MIA lately! Unfortunately, that is kind of how I have been with everything lately! After all of the rain we got the last two weeks, I think I was in a zombie state and just couldn’t bring myself to do anything. Today I am getting back into EVERYTHING! Here are a few things I am lacking motivation on in my life and what I plan to do to fix it!

I am training for a half marathon and took a lot more time off than I should have. I gotta lace up those kicks and hit the road. With running, I have found that when I buy new gear I just want to try it out right away and it gets me to at least start to run. Once I start running, I remember how much I enjoy it! Other than that, running with a friend always gets me out there, it’s one thing to quit on yourself, but once you bring someone else into it, it is hard to bail!

I have been eating out a lot more than usual. I need to scale it back and make my own meals at home. Not only will this be cheaper, but will help eliminate the foods I really should not be eating. Typically, when I do decide to cook, I just cook enough for leftovers for a few nights as well as some easy breakfast ideas, hard-boiled eggs or egg muffin bakes. If I can just heat something up when I get home, life is much easier!

For a while now, I have been wanting to update / put together my portfolio in hopes to attract some freelance work. This has been a slow process. It is hard to work on graphic design outside of a full-time job. When I get home all I want to do after work is not work anymore, and without any deadlines in place, I have no motivation to do anything. I have found out that if I meet up with a friend at a coffeeshop (Spyhouse NE MPLS is prime!) who has to also do some work, things get done!

Now that the rain has finally stopped and it is warming up here, I always love to venture and check out places I have not been to in the cities. I always tend to go to my favorite bars, restaurants and stores, but there is soo much more that the cities have to offer, I just need to check it out! In the past, I have just made an entire day out of it, like a field trip! I found that if I set aside time to venture, I get ready and get exploring!

So stay tuned on portfolio updates and more blog posts as well as updates on the rest of my life!
